GEORGE - Mrs. Edna Murray Carson, 86, of 830 Mt. Zion Road, St. George died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at a Walterboro hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Highway 178, St. George, S.C., with Dr. John H. Elliott, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by LING FUNERAL HOME OF ST. GEORGE (843) 563-3589. Mrs. Carson was born July 5, 1914, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late John Murray and Mrs. Ada Kelly Murray. She attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a life-long member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Peter "Buster" Carson. Surviving are three sons, Richard Carson, J.C. Carson and Leroy Carson, all of St. George, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Addison, Mrs. Lauran Frazier and Mrs. Maggie Carn, all of St. George, S.C.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Johnson of Washington, D.C. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on Friday evening, June 8, 2001, at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Highway 178, St. George, S.C.
