TARBORO - Edward Elam Jr., 59, of Tarboro, died Friday, June 29, 2001, 
in Memorial Medical Center in Savannah. Bostick Funeral Home of 
Ridgeland is in charge.

RIDGELAND - Edward Elam Jr., 59, of Ridgeland, died Friday, June 29, 
2001, in Memorial Medical Center, Savannah. The family will receive 
friends 4 to 8 p.m. today in Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Services 
will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Tarboro Church of God of Prophecy. Burial
will follow in the Carswell Memorial Cemetery, Pineland. Mr. Elam was 
born Aug. 5, 1941, in Virginia Beach, Va., a son of Ralph E. and 
Charity Mae Beattie Elam. He was a construction worker and member of 
Tarboro Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are his wife, Jannie T. 
Elam of Ridgeland; three sons, Alexander Elam of Estill, Anthony Elam 
of Gillisonville and Ralph Elam of Ridgeland; five daughters, Loxcenia 
Jackson of Pineland, Bernadette Brown of Maryland, Veronica Hills of 
Charlotte, Mary Young of Beaufort and Priscilla Elam of Ridgeland; a 
sister, Marie Elam of Philadelphia, Pa.; and 13 grandchildren.
