A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, at the chapel of the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Mr. Byran was born in Charleston County, a son of the late William Jennings Bryan, Sr., and Lois O'Neal Bryan. He was a former school teacher with the Colleton County School System and was a former life insurance agent and tax accountant. He was a graduate of Clemson University and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the 509th Airborne Infantry. He also served in the German Theater and received several accomodations. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner in Fort Worth, Texas, and was a past member of the Walterboro Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Margaret "Kay" Ringhoffer Bryan, a son, Mark William Bryan of Timmonsville, six daughters, Cecilia Strickland of Hardeeville, Allison Scott of Round O, Teresa Bowman of Walterboro, Jennifer Lee Mulligan of Bluffton, Tammy Kay Bryan of Goose Creek, and Tina Lynn Williams of Lake City, two step-daughters, Julia Mills of Goose Creek and Donna Sineath of Islandton, two step-sons, Jimmy Butler of Hampton and C.T. Butler of Wetumpka, Ala., a sister, Audrey L. Brandon of Cayce , 21 grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Hospice, P.O. Box 50820, Summerville, S.C. 29485.
