All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Mencil Eugene Riggs, 71, of Hoxie, Arkansas died Tuesday June 3, 2003, at his home, following a lengthy illness. Born July 13, 1931, in Randolph County, he served in the Korean Conflict and was retired from Esna. He was associated with Meals on Wheels, was an assistant with the BRAD Center in Pocahontas and was active in many other community service organizations. He was of the Assembly of God belief. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Eugene Riggs; his parents, Logan and Elizabeth Dawson Riggs; and a brother Logan Glen Riggs. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Debow, Sedgwick, and Deborah Woodson, Pocahontas; a son, Ricky Lynn Riggs, Hoxie; his former wife, Stella Riggs,Hoxie; two brothers, Kermit Riggs, Cave City, and Darrell Riggs, Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Betty Miller, Massachusetts, and Ruth Riggs; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral was held Friday June 6, at 2 p.m. in Bryan Chapel with Bro. Luther Jones officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens at Pocahontas under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
