Friday, Jun 21, 1946 Asa Bertrand Hill Retired Farmer Dies. Asa Bertrand hill, aged 76, of 2205 S. Tyler St., died at a Little Rock hospital Thursday (June 20, 1946). A native of Hensley, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Oren Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Hill; four sons, Hiram H. Hill of the Navy, Raymond P. Hill of Pine Bluff and Harold L. Hill and Leo Hill of Little Rock; and four daughters, Miss Grace Hill of Little Rock, Mrs. Edgar Porter of Dallas, TX, Mrs. Neal Porter of El Paso TX and Mrs. R. L. Taylor of Los Angeles, Cal. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel Church at 3 p.m. Friday. Bural will be in Bethel Cemetery by Griffin-Legget. Pallbeareres will be: Active--Charles Matthews, Homer Burris, Melvin Hicks, James Wilkerson, John Clark and Alfy Clark; Honorary--Bobby Baxley, Walter Matthews, Sam McDonald, Will Tillery, Robert Matthews, John Matthews and Dr. Bogard. From the Arkansas Gazette Thursday, Jun 26, 1969 Mrs. Bertrand Hill Mrs. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Dae Duncan Hill, aged 85, of 4411 W. 26 St, widow of Bertrand Hill, died Wednesday (June 25, 1969). She was a lifetime member of Orion Baptist Church. Survivors are four sons, Hiram Hill of N. Little Rock, Raymond Hill of Searcy, Harold Hill of Little Rock and Leo Hill of LaVergne, TN; four daughters, Miss Grace Hill of Little Rock, Mrs. Palestine Porter of Hensley, Mrs. Mae Lomax of El Paso TX and Mrs. R. L Taylor of Granada Hills, Cal., 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Griffin Leggett.
