REID Funeral service for Wm. A. Reid, 90 year old citizen of Vandervoort, who died at a local hospital Saturday morning, was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church at Vandervoort with Rev. J.A. Beane officiating. Burial was in the Witherspoon Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in the family plot by the side of his wife who had preceded him in death several years. Burial was directed by the Geyer Funeral Home. Mr. Reid was a native of Alabama, and was born in Perry County, but came to Arkansas 52 years ago and settled in Polk County near Vandervoort. He spent the remainder of his life in the neighborhood of Vandervoort and Hatfield where he followed farming until about 20 years ago when he retired due to his age. He had been a member of the Baptist Church since young manhood. He is survived by two sons, John of Vandervoort and Versie of Direct, Texas; 4 daughters, Mrs. Mary Smith and Mrs. Lillie Keiss, both of Watson, Oklahoma, Mrs. Lula Underwood of Mena, and Mrs. Myrtle Shields of Bakersfield, California; also 40 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
