He was a retired police officer, member of Central Baptist Church, former member of the Hot Springs Police Dept. and later the Vivian, La., Police Dept., founder and first president of the Hot Springs Fraternal Order of Police 1, and an active member of Belvedere Country Club. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Campbell of Hot Springs; one daughter, Susan Reid of Shreveport, LA.; two sons, Garry W. Campbell of West Lake, Calif., and Joel S. Campbell of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Robert Campbell of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Evelyn Campbell of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. CLANTON with picture ***************** Thelma Dolly Clanton, 89, of Hot Springs, died Mon., Oct. 19, 1992, in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1902, in Houston, the daughter of Charles and Libbey Ross Zorn. She was a retired chief telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and also worked as a secretary for Farmer’s Mutual Insurance Co. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Tenn., and had been a resident of Hot Springs for the past 15 yrs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Clanton. Survivors include one daughter, Daisy Ann Nunnally of Hot Springs; two grandsons, Malcolm Dennis Wilcox of Jackson, Tenn., and Charles Lee Wilcox of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Fri. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hot Springs, with the Rev. Leo Riedmueller officiating. Navy on the USS Arizona. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wilmington, Calif., and a charter member of the Elks Lodge in Carson, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Della Holiman; two brothers, Percy and Carl; one sister, Hattie; one wife of 41 yrs., Pauline; and one wife of 15 yrs., Beverly. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Hanner of Fallbrook, Calif., and Sally McChain of Benton; two sons, Earl Barton Holiman Jr. of Everett, Wash., and J. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2278, the Military Order of Cootie and a member of American Legion Post 13. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary and American Assoc. of Retired Persons Chapter 13. She was the former owner of a photography studio in Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Solomon. PATRICIA WELAUFER ***************** HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE--Patricia Beth Wetlaufer, 58, of Hot Springs Village died Fri., Oct. 23, 1992, at her residence. She resided in Hot Springs Village for nine yrs. She was a registered nurse and a former assistant operating room supervisor at Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. She worked as a nurse in Calif. and Minn. and later became director of nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Wausau, Wis. She was employed by Wisconsin Dept. of Health of 12 yrs. In Hot Springs Village, she was quality care supervisor for The Beveley Corp. and employed by Ark. Dept. of Health as a program director for the personal care program. She was a member of Fountain Lake United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Wetlaufer of Hot Springs Village; one son, John LaVeine of Hot Springs; and cousins in Wisconsin. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sat. at Fountain Lake United Methodist Church. The Rev. Darrel Bone will officiate. The body will be cremated by Caruth Village Funeral Home. Survivors include include her husband, Donald G. Whitt of Hot Springs; one daughter, Michele Whitt of Hot Springs; two brothers, Charles R. Kraus of Chester, Texas, and Herbert R. Kraus of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Ann Wages of Clarksville and Bernis Stark of Point Nechas, Texas; 14 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces and nephews.
