ARRINGTON ************************* HOPE-- Elder Andrew Reece Arrington, 72, died Sat., May 2 in a local hospital. He was a retired Baptist minister, a member of the Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Hope. He surrendered to preach the Gospel in 1953 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, Ark. He was pastor there for 28 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Arrington of Hope; three brothers, Von Arrington of Little Rock, Truman Arrington of Hope, Noal Arrington of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Marie Hatfield of Washington, Ark.; a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Herndon Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Gene Outler and Elder J. D. Wallace, both of Hot Springs, and the Elder Larry Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope. LAURA S. FRANCIS **************** BENTON-- Laura Suzanne Francis, infant, died Fri., May 1 in a Little Rock hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Francis of Benton. Survivors include one sister, Jennifer Francis of Benton; grandparents, Dewey Francis of Alpine, and Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Graham of Mount Ida and her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Hap) Atha of Mount Ida. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Rosemount Cemetery in Benton with Rev. Royce Christmas officiating. Ballards’ Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. JAMES W. KIMZEY *************** MALVERN-- James W. Kimzey, 77, of Magnet Cove, died Fri., May 1 at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1904 in Crystal Springs and lived here most of his life. He was a retired superintendent of the Magnet Cove School, also a retired Hot Spring County judge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Overton Kimzey of Magnet Cove; one son, James R. Kimzey of Fayetteville; one stepson, William R. Overton of Little Rock; four grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Mon. at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gladwin Connell and Rev. Doug Rickels officiating. Burial will be at Magnet Cove Cemetery. The family will be at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ABNER W. LONG ************* Services for Mr. Abner Wilson Long, 73, who died Fri., May 1, will be at 10 a.m. Mon. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Gardner and Avery Streets with Pastor Charles Stout and Pastor Paul Hood officating. Pallbearers will be Elmer White, Allan Brown, Edward Swayger, Glenn Estell, Othel Graves, and Irvin Imlar. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. W. Martin Eisele, Dr. James Burton, Dr. Robert Aspell, Dr. Al Thomas, Dr. James French, Ronnie Ford, Bill Kirkham, Pete Homishak and Robert Tarbox. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Caruth Funeral Home. KIBBIE W. REED ************** Mrs. Kibbie W. Reed, 79, died St., May 2 at a local hospital. She had been a lifetime resident of Hot Springs and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the hospital guild at the St. Joseph’s Mercy Medical Center for many years, a member of the Ellis Patterton Circle, First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Assoc., The Belvedere Bridge Club, The Thinkers Club, and a former member of the O.E.S. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Onita Ciamarro, of North Hollywood, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Sallye B. Carpenter, of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Bobby Lewis Jr. of San Francisco, Calif., Leslie Lewis Head, of Dallas, Texas, Patty Lewis of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gross Mortuary. FRED THOMAS *********** Services for Fred Thomas, 80, who died Tues., April 28, in a local hospital will be at 11 a.m. Mon. in Page Mortuary Chapel with District Elder F. H. Branscumb officiating. Pallbearers will be John Sims, Clifton Colemon, Ophelia Franklin, Samuel Decker, J. W. Smith, James Ingram, Pank Wilson, Fred Knight. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Page Mortuary. Visitation will be today from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Page Mortuary Chapel of Remembrance. HAROLD I. SMITH *************** Harold I. Smith, 58, died Fri., May 1 in a Little Rock hospital. He was born in Senca, Kan. and was retired form the U. S. Army, was a veteran of WW II and the Korean war. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Iva Martell of Hot Springs. Caruth Funeral Home will announce arrangements. JOHN T. WHITE ************* GLENWOOD-- John T. White, 87, of Glenwood died Fri. in a Little Rock hospital. He was a veteran of WW I, a member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge and a retired carpenter. Survivors include, one son, Jay White of Calif.; two daughters, Laverne Schmitt of Calif. and Jimmy Ward of Oregon; eight grandhcildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Mon. in Glenwood Cemetery with Elder Cloyd Wright officiating. Masonic rights will be held during the service.
