Carter February 9, 1923 The Fulton County Democrat The Fulton County Democrat Friday, Feb. 9, 1923 Vol. XXXII, No. 25 Page 4 An item we overlooked was the death Jan. 19 of Mrs. Nancy A. Carter, mother of our excellent county judge, M.C. Carter. Mrs. Nancy A Cater was born in Alabama Oct. 12, 1832 and moved to Fulton county Ark., in 1884. She was the mother of 8 children of 8 children [sic], five of whom survive her, four daughters and the one son. She was 3 months and 7 days more than 9[?] years of age when she died, having spent more than 70 years of her earthly pilgrimage a faithful follower of the Christ of Galilee, member of the Primitive Baptist church. Because she was steadfast and true no doubt her years were lengthened that she might be a fitting example to those following after. She was buried in the Salem cemetery, Rev. Summers conducting the funeral service.
