Mr. Archie D. Sword (Swords) Mr. Archie D. Sword, formerly of Magnolia, Ark., but a resident of Homer for the past five years succumbed to a lengthy illness Tuesday evening (March 21, 1956) in a Shreveport hospital. The deceased was born March 27, 1897, in Omega, Ga., and he was affiliated with the St. Paul Baptist Church in that city. Since residing in Homer, he was employed as a fireman in the oilfield. Funeral services were conucted by Rev. V.R. Blizzard Saturday aftenoon at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kerlin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Antioch East cemetery near Magnolia. Survivors include his widow of East Main Street, Homer; two daughters, Mrs. Iria (Iris) Curry of Homer, La., and Mrs. Ila Mae Baker of Winnsboro; a brother, N.E. Sword of Henderson; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Stone, Norman Park, Ga., Mrs. Danny McCloud, Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. George Driver of Lakeland, and eight grandchildren.
