had been drafted into Rufus Tilden’s company of New York militia at French’s
Mills (Ft. Covington). He was one of
the men who was captured at French’s Mills in 1812 and sent as a prisoner of
war to Montreal. He also later served
in Capt. Jared Winslow’s company as a substitute. He had been born in about 1796 in Vermont His wife was born in about 1805 in
Vermont, according to the 1860 census of Bombay, so either the census is
wrong, or their date of marriage is wrong.
She may have been the daughter of Ebenezer Wakefield of Dickinson/Moira. There were 2 children
