By donating files to these Archives, you will be helping a movement aimed at providing free, publicly accessible, primary information on the Internet. The text format of Archive files ensures the easiest access to the largest number of people. In addition, the USGenWeb Archives search engine can search all of a state's files simultaneously. This increases both the accessibility and utility of Archive files. While we can't gaurentee against all possibilites, steps are taken to safeguard contributed files and to give them a permanent home at the USGenWeb Archives.
The Archives will gladly accept any non-copyrighted primary (e.g. from an original source) material. This can include transcriptions of marriage records, deeds, wills, gravestones, etc. We also accept transcriptions of previously published works on which the copyright has expired. Of course, it is always wonderful when someone can contribute a large file pertaining to numerous individuals. However, a submission of a single record, like a will or a deed, is welcome.
If you would like to contribute, please read the USGenWeb
Archives
submission guidelines.
Part of our job as Archives Coordinators is to answer questions and offer help in order to make submitting files as easy and successful as possible.
There are limitations to the types of assistence an Archives
Coordinator can offer. We CAN NOT help with research or queries. Please visit the NebraskaGenWeb for that type of assistence.
We CAN answer questions about the appropriateness of data for submission, how to prepare and submit data, and the rules and guidelines governing the Archives. We WILL also welcome your general comments and suggestions.
