Robeson County, NC - Howell Family Cemetery

Howell Family Cemetery

Survey taken September 21,2003 by George Edsion Creel, Hernando Beach, FL.

From the intersection of I-95 and US 74 in Robeson County, NC, go west .1 mile on US 74 to Kendric Rd.  Go north .4 miles on Kendric Rd. The cemetery is on the west side of the road behind the Mastec Company construction yard (about 70 yeards from the road). Access to the cemetery is through the Sleeping Bear Campground, south of the Mastec yard. The cemetery is currently being maintained by the campground owners. One of the campground owners, who purchased the campground 14 years ago, told me she was informed by the previous owner that an Indian (Native American) woman was maintaining the cemetery. The same owner says they have never seen an Indian woman at the cemetery. I have not found any record of this cemetery and the name "Howell Family Cemetery" has been arbitrarily selected by me.
