Homestead Spotting Map
This map can be used for an approximate location of the various homesteads mentioned in the book. Havre and Laredo are in Hill County; Big Sandy is in Chouteau County. Township (T) numbers are on the left, Range (R) numbers above the highway at the top. Each quarter section is described by the points of the compass. The Dias Worstell homestead, number 9, is described as S2NW4 & N2SW4 S4 T27N R12E. This would be the south half of the northwest quarter, and the north half of the southwest quarter, of section 4 in township 27 north range 12 east. Homesteads 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 16 are clustered around Verona, and 11 and 12, southeast of there. Homesteads 1, 2, 3, 4, and 15 are clustered around Laredo. Five is south of Box Elder, and 13, and 14, east of Box Elder. More complete information of homesteads can be found in the appendix.
