Bertha Jane Adams

Bertha Jane Adams nee Mounce, age 66, of Steelville, 
Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Steelville, 
Missouri.
She was born Wednesday, July 26, 1939 in St. Louis 
County, the daughter of Dorman Jesse and Sylvia Mae (Murdock) 
Mounce. She was united in marriage to George Lee Adams Sr. on 
October 31, 1967 in Steelville, Missouri and to this union four 
children were born.
She is survived by her husband, George; three daughters, 
Lisa Jane Proffer and husband Steve of Cuba, Missouri, Barbara 
Brickey and husband Eddie of Steelville, Missouri, and Mary Ann 
Adams and fiancé Wade Westrup of Cherryville, Missouri; one son, 
George Lee Adams Jr. and fiancée Sandra Hitchcock of Steelville, 
Missouri.
Six grandchildren, Dustin Adams, Stevie Adams, Heather 
Proffer, Courtney Harris, Brittany Westrup and Skyler Westrup; three 
brothers Dorman James Mounce and wife Joyce, Thomas Lester Mounce 
and wife Marilyn, and David Michael Mounce, all of Steelville, 
Missouri; one sister, Debbie Whitaker and husband Rick of Salem, 
Missouri; nieces, nephews, and other family relatives and friends.
Bertha had worked for Brown Shoe Company and was a 
member of TOPS. She had attended the United Pentecostal Church in 
Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adams were held Saturday, 
February 4, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, 
Missouri with the Rev. James Self and Rev. Berlie Turnbough 
officiating. Music was by Jaisa Self and a cd from Brad Paisley.
Serving as casketbearers were Wade Westrup, Steve 
Proffer, Eddie Brickey, Dustin Adams, Justin McPeters and Jerry 
Breakfield with burial in the Crossroads Cemetery in Leasburg, 
Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the 
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
