All files are a part of the USGenWeb Archives
This project will endeavor to provide actual transcriptions of Marriage Applications, and other Marriage Records, as found recorded in the county court house and state archives. We are encouraging these transcriptions to be entire marriage books and/or rolls of microfilm. |
Transcripts will be accepted and files will be placed in the USGenWeb Archives directory of the State and County, where the marriage records were originally recorded. |
!!Volunteers!! are needed to make this project a success. Microfilm can be ordered from The
Texas
Electronic Library for some counties. Check to see if yours is
available. I cannot do research for you, so
please do not ask. If you are interested in becoming a part of this project and would like to adopt a County in Texas, please contact Patti Jepsen |
Marriage indexes are not themselves legal documents and are prepared only as aids in locating the records upon which they are based. If you believe that an original marriage license contains an error, you may contact the County Clerk's office in the county where the marriage license is filed. The Bureau of Vital Statistics website lists the addresses of all County Clerks' offices in Texas.
