Joseph Daniel Jackson (Feb 3, 1840 - May 19, 1897) second child of
Josiah and Elizabeth Henderson Jackson. In a letter dated May 20,
1897 addressed to his sister (Martha Jane Jackson-Crager) Henry
Issac Jackson, the son of Joseph explains that he and his step-mother
(Mary Crager-Jackson) were in New Orleans at the time of Josephs death
and since they could not afford to have his body returned to Vernon
Parish by train, he was buried in the church tomb in the military
cemetery in New Orleans.
