This is the marriage license of Rosanna Moore and Ruffin Goldstone Pleasant (1817 – 1865). Pleasant was born at Roxboro, North Carolina, and married Rosanna Moore in Perry County Alabama before moving to Shiloh, in western Union Parish Louisiana in 1850. Ruffin and Rosanna had two sons and four daughters. The eldest, Benjamin Franklin Pleasant, lived in Farmerville and served as the Union Parish Sheriff for many years. One of B. Frank Pleasant's sons, Ruffin Golson Pleasant, served as the Governor of Louisiana from 1916 until 1920.
