Zilleann Frances Barron (9 Nov 1824 – c1895) was the daughter of Henry Barron (4 Aug 1803 – 7 Apr 1870) and Sarah Callaway (12 Jan 1802 – 28 June 1863), who had married in Jones County Georgia in January 1824. Zilleann's birth occurred just as the Barron and Callaway families were moved from Jones County westward into the newly-opened Creek Indian lands in what became Upson and Monroe Counties. Henry and Sallie Barron moved back and forth between Jones and Upson for a few years, but settled on a farm in Upson between 1827 and 1833. In 1834 or 1835, they followed their siblings west into Barbour and Macon Counties, Alabama. Zilleann married Alexander Wilson Upshaw (c1826 – 11 Feb 1883) on 10 June 1847. They moved with Zilleann's family north to Tallapoosa County in 1848, and in February 1852, they all moved to Spearsville, in Union Parish Louisiana. Zilleann and Wilson raised their family near the Corney Bayou a few miles south of Spearsville. She continued to maintain her farm after Wilson's death in 1883. She was still alive in 1892 and apparently as late as 1895, when it appears she died. She was definitely dead by 1899, when her heirs sold her old farm.
