William Robert Smith Family, 1908

 
My GGrandfather was James Matthew Anderson of Marion, who was born September 15, 1842, and died October 5, 1921.
He is buried at Marion Cemetery. He married Sarah (Sallie) Pleasant, who was born Jan 1, 1844, at Perry Co.
Alabama and was the daughter of Rosanna Moore and Ruffin G. Pleasant. The marriage was in Farmerville on October 29,
1863. Sallie Pleasant Anderson died July 10, 1875 and is buried in Shiloh Cemetery.

The children of Sarah (Sallie) Pleasant and James Matthew Anderson were:

Mary Rosanna Eugenia Anderson married William Robert Smith
Sarah Talitha Anderson married Robert Eugene Lee
Alice Victoria Anderson married Joseph William Benson
Samuel Wood Anderson died at the age of 9 years
James Thompson Anderson died at age of 31 years ----unmarried

This picture of the William Robert Smith Family was made about 1908. William R. Smith was born at Farmerville,
August 20, 1861, and married Mary Rosanna Eugenia Anderson who was born at Marion, October 8, 1864. She was the
daughter of James Matthew Anderson. The marriage was in Farmerville, October 10, 1887. Recorded Book 7, Page 722,
Union Parish, LA.

Middle row:
William Robert Smith, Mrs. Mary Rosanna Eugenia Anderson Smith.
Back row:
Celeste (later Mrs. Winfrey Smith), William R. Smith, Jr., Ruth (later Mrs Robert Hosford).
Dewey(not shown) died in early childhood.

The family settled in Camden, Arkansas, where Mr. Smith was in the meat market business and dry goods business.
All of the family shown are buried in the Smith Family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Camden, Arkansas.
