Notice that Hosea H. Holcombe's left eye is sewn shut. He lost the eye while serving in the Confederate Army during the War Between the States. William E. Rockett is Hosea's son by his first wife, Anna Mae West (31 Jan 1843 – 2 Oct 1881). The younger three are children of Hosea and his second wife, Martha Ruth Etta Breazeal. Hosea and Martha Ruth married in 1882. She had previously married to Henry H. Groves.
