Powell Family, late 1800s

The Powells moved to Louisiana about 1870/71 to Downsville LA. Lincoln Parish was
formed in 1873--taking the part of Union Parish that included Downsville. The Powells
moved on to Texas in the 1890's. Taken in Brown Co TX at a Primitive Baptist Church meeting
about 1905. Includes family members and there may be some other church folks. The Fomby's were still
living in Union Parish in 1900 (I am still trying to find out what became of them), and I do
know that two children are buried at Shiloh--one married Aunt Bella Coplen and a daughter
married a Booles. John Thomas Powell's 2nd & 3rd wifes were from Shiloh--Nina Shaw is from
the Shaw family which is written about in the "Parish History" section of these archives.
Tekkie married an Edwards. Bunie Fomby is Aunt Bella's mother-in-law.
