Powell Family, late 1800s

 
The Powells moved to Louisiana about 1870/71 to Downsville LA. Lincoln Parish was
formed in 1873--taking the part of Union Parish that included Downsville. The Powells
moved on to Texas in the 1890's. Taken in Brown Co TX at a Primitive Baptist Church meeting
about 1905. Sitting is William Jasper Powell and behind him are Jennie Burson (Virginia E Powell),
John Powell (John Thomas Powell), Tekkie Edwards (Martha Texana Powell), Ed Powell (Joseph
Edward Powell), Bunie Fomby (Buena Vista Jane Powell).
