Joseph Minor Ogden (6 Oct 1882 – 18 Jan 1980) was the son of William Robert Ogden (7 July 1852 – 28 Dec 1942) and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Breazeale (7 June 1854 – 18 Sept 1929). He was born north of Spearsville, apparently on his grandfather Hosea Bright Breazeal's farm. About 1885, his parents moved back into southern Union County Arkansas where the Ogdens had lived since about 1817. Minor moved with his parents back to Spearsville for good in the latter 1890s. He married Nancy Jane (Nannie) Smith (12 June 1885 – 2 Nov 1972) on 17 October 1906. She was a daughter of Elder Woody K. Smith and Mahala Head Smith.
Minor and Nannie had no children of their own, but they had a horde of nieces and nephews. Everyone seemed to call them "Uncle Minor" and "Aunt Nannie". They lived their entire lives in the Spearsville community. For more on Uncle Minor and Aunt Nannie, read their biography written by their nephew, Lyle Smith.
