This photo of Catherine Henry Cook Mabry, her ten tall sons, and her
two daughters was taken some time after William Pierce Mabry was shot
to death in April of 1885. It was probably taken by a traveling
photographer outside the family home. Notice the tarps hung on the
log walls to make a backdrop. Catherine was less than 5 feet tall and
barely weighed 98 pounds. Her youngest daughter, Mary, was also about
5 feet tall. The older daughter, Lizzie, was 6 feet tall. All the sons
were over 6 feet tall. Their father was 6 feet, 5 inches tall.

Catherine Henry Cook Mabry is seated in front on the far right. Her children are:
Back row, standing, left to right: Mary Catherine Mabry Lewis, Charles "Charlie"
Leroy Mabry, Alfred "Al" Joel Mabry, Joseph "Joe" Eggleston Mabry, Milton "Mitt"
Price Mabry, Alonzo "Lon" Mabry.
Front row, seated, left to right: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mabry Russell, Franklin "Frank"
Wafer Mabry, Pascal "Pack" Howard Mabry, John Robert Mabry, William Henry Mabry, and
James "Jim" Thomas Mabry.
