Robert Lee Hudson
early 1900s

Robert Lee Hudson (4 Oct 1883 – 8 July 1940) was the son of John Thomas Hudson and Susannah Jane Goyne. He was born in eastern Union Parish near Farmerville. In the 1920s, he worked with his brother Elgin in the timber business in Lincoln Parish. He married Grace Edwards and they had one known child, Virginia Lee Hudson, born in about 1917. In 1920, they lived in Bienville Parish. Robert and Grace separated, and in the 1930s, he developed skin cancer on his face, the same malady that killed his father in 1924. As the cancer grew, Robert suffered horribly, staying with various family members during the last stages of the disease. He died at the Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
