Ollie Cleveland Hudson
about 1910 – 1916
Ollie Cleveland Hudson (7 June 1892 – 7 Aug 1918) was the son of John Thomas Hudson and Susannah Jane Goyne. He was born in eastern Union Parish near Farmerville. On 12 June 1918, Ollie married Carrie McGough (16 Dec 1896 – 26 July 1955), the daughter of Robert Armstrong McGough and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Ward. Three of Carrie's siblings had previously married three of Ollie's siblings, so their families were closely connected.
Tragically, Ollie C. Hudson died only two months after his marriage of what his doctor called typhoid fever. His sister, Nomie, had died of the same-named illness the previous June. As their deaths occurred in 1918, the year of the worst-known influenza epidemic that killed millions of young people worldwide, it seems likely that Ollie and Nomie died of the flu.
