Susan Annie Moore Coplen (Copeland) - 1908 and 1939
 

Both photographs are of Susan Annie Moore who married Demetrius Colvin Copeland.
She was born 3 Nov. 1849 in Perry Co, AL, the daughter of George Washington Moore
and Eliza Ann Reed, who came to Union Parish in 1850.

The photo on the right was taken some time between May of 1904 when her daughter Rosa
Copeland married Lon Mabry, and 1909 when the Mabrys left Childress, TX for Elmer, OK,
because the handwriting on the back says the photo was taken in Childress, TX 1/2 mi.
south of the Truman ranch.

The photo on the left (and this is based on my memory of what my grandmother, Rosa
Copeland Mabry told me) was taken shortly before Susan Annie Moore Copeland died.
She died on 24 April 1939. The photo looks like it could have been taken in February
or March. She is buried in Shiloh Cemetery, near Bernice, LA.
