This photograph of Robert Henry Barron (22 May 1879 – 11 July 1953) and Ela Rebecca Frances Rockett (18 Feb 1882 – 8 May 1923) was taken at their marriage near Spearsville on 16 July 1902. Both were born near Spearsville, Robert the son of Henry Callaway Barron (4 Dec 1831 – 21 Jan 1911) and Sophronia Ellen Moses (1845 – 20 Sept 1920), and Ela the daughter of Joseph Cannon Rockett (14 Nov 1847 – 11 Apr 1929) and Rebecca A. Upshaw (7 Apr 1851 – 10 Apr 1882). Joe Rockett did not approve of the courtship, as Ela's mother was Robert's first cousin. Attempting to end the relationship, Joe sent Ela away on an extended visit to relatives in Texas, where his aunt Martha Holcombe Bunch and her family had settled. Joe's ploy failed, however, and Ela and Robert had a large family of children. Like her mother, Ela died shortly after giving birth, in the spring of 1923. She was buried in the Camp Creek Cemetery.
