Henry Callaway Barron (4 Dec 1831 – 21 Jan 1911) was the son of Henry Barron (4 Aug 1803 – 7 Apr 1870) and Sarah Callaway (12 Jan 1802 – 28 June 1863). Henry & Sallie Barron lived in Upson County Georgia at the time of Henry Callaway Barron's birth, but while he was still a young child his parents migrated west into the State of Alabama. In 1852, Henry Barron moved his family from Tallapoosa County Alabama to the banks of Corney Bayou, some few miles south of Spearsville in northwestern Union Parish Louisiana.
Henry Callaway Barron served along with his brother James, brother-in-law Alexander Wilson Upshaw, and first cousins Ebenezer J. and James H. M. Barron in Company I, 31st Louisiana Infantry, Confederate States Army, known as the Sparrow Cadets. During the war, this unit saw service in northeastern Louisiana, Vicksburg Campaign of November 1862 – July 1863, and then performed guard duty in central Louisiana, 1864 – 1865.
Henry Callaway Barron married on 30 March 1856 in Union County Arkansas to Satsey Ann Taylor (16 May 1839 – 3 June 1857). After her death, Barron remarried on 2 January 1859 in Union Parish Louisiana to Amanda Elizabeth Giles (20 Nov 1839 – 8 Nov 1875). After Amanda's death, Henry married on 25 July 1876 to Sophronia Ellen Moses (1845 – 20 Sept 1920).
Henry and Sophronia lived together near Spearsville until his death in 1911, where Henry farmed and belonged to the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. The tables below show photographs of Henry Callaway Barron's children.
