Silas T. Grisamore of The Thibodaux Sentinel

Silas T. Grisamore was an Indiana native who moved to Lafourche Parish as a young man. A former schoolteacher, mayor, and Civil War veteran, he was the editor of The Thibodaux Sentinel for many years. During this time (the latter half of the nineteenth century), he wrote many articles about times long gone, including details about his excursions around southeast Louisiana and remembrances from his war service.
