The Hammond
Wholesale Company was the first John Deere Dealership in Hammond. It was
located on the eastside of the railroad tracks on Railroad Avenue across
from the Illinois Central Train Depot. Later it became Hammond Equipment
Company, and then Orleans Coastal Equipment Company. It
was established after World War II.
