She was born May, 29, 1937 to Henry and the late Mary Brown in Franklinton. Her early years were spent in New Orleans where she graduated from Clark High School. She was a career clerical worker and retired in Oakland, Calif. Helen met and married John North, who preceded her in death. They relocated to Slidell and made their home for the past 14 years. Sister North was a member of the Greater North Shore F.G.B.C., where she served on the Hospitality Ministry. She loved her Pastor and First Lady and loved and touched the lives of all she met. Her warm beautiful smile will be missed. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Albert (Vernita) Jourdan, Calvin (Margarett) Jourdan, Tommy Jackson (Janice); daughter Debra (Reginald - special son-in-law) Jenkins; father, Henry Brown; sister Mary (Randy - her favorite brother-in-law) Hamlin of Mansfield, Texas; brother Robert (Juanita) Brown of Bolingbrook, Ill, Lloyd (Carrie) Brown of Chicago, Ill., Ralph Brown, and Edward Devroaux of New Orleans. She will also be missed by the children of her late husband, Jessie, Marilyn, Bruce, Debra (George and Duane and devoted sister-in- law Carlene Brown. She had 30-plus grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunt, family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Greater North Shore F.G.B.C, 840 Voters Road, Slidell, with the Bishop Robert J. Taylor officiating. Visitation is from 9 - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be Monday at the Biloxi National Cemetery , Biloxi, Miss. Arrangements entrusted to Doyle's Funeral Home, 2430 Fourth St., Slidell. ===================
