Gerry was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 12, 1918 to Albert Bartholomew Trochesset, Sr. and Josephine B. Velcich Trochesset. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband David Edward Ebeling, Sr., her sisters Shirley Trochesset, Lillian Trochesset Krefft, and her brothers James Trochesset and Albert "A.B." Bartholomew Trochesset, Jr. Gerry is survived by her sister Evelyn Kindle and her brother Henry Trochesset and her five children, Marilyn Coulonge (Alex) of Dallas, TX, David Ebeling (Michelle) of Kirkland, WA, Margaret Ebeling Rolufs of Slidell, La, Mary "Dookie" Elizabeth Jackley (Kennard) of Slidell, La, and Edward "Eddie" Ebeling (Kathleen) of Roswell, GA. She has 16 grand children, 14 great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry graduated from Biloxi High School, May 1935, as valedictorian. Following graduation Gerry moved to New Orleans to attend New Orleans Normal School for Teacher Training. She graduated as Valedictorian, Class President and in May 1937 was awarded the American Legion Citizenship Award. While teaching in New Orleans public schools Gerry attended evening and weekend classes in Tulane's extension division, graduating with a B.A. degree in Education in June, 1971. After 32 years of service Gerry retired from teaching in the New Orleans Public schools in 1977. Gerry has been an active member of the Abita Springs Garden Club, Covington Garden Club, and Folsom Native Plant Society. She has also been involved in many other civic groups in St. Tammany Parish such as the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Tammany Parish Hospital Volunteer, Covington Civic Association, Friends of the Library, St. Peter Church Naim Group, Hadden Hall Council and St. Tammany Parish Council on Aging. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Monday will begin at 9:00 AM, with a Rosary prayed at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. Francis Animal Sanctuary. ===================
