He passed away peacefully in his sleep with his faithful dog, Mac, by his side. Born Sept. 20, 1992, Will spent his early years in Fairfield County Conn., and moved with his family to southern Louisiana in 1999. Although his life was short, Will had a profound impact on the lives of everyone that knew him and his sweet and gentle spirit will be missed by all. Surviving are his parents, Robert N. and Laura A. Cowin; brother John M. Cowin, all of Covington; maternal grandparents Thomas H. and Wayne P. Adams of Cambridge Md.; uncles Steven A. Adams of Cambridge, Md., and David H. Cowin of Danbury, Conn.; aunts Charlene H. Adams of Cambridge, and Stephanie L. Cowin of Ridgefield and cousins Kathryn M. Adams of Cambridge, Jessica H. Cowin of Atlanta, Ga., and David H. Cowin of Greenwich, Conn. Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David M. and Peggy H. Cowin of Manhasset, N.Y., and Covington. In addition to his relatives, Will was blessed with many wonderful friends, teachers and therapists that enriched his quality of life. His long-time caregiver, Beckie M. Adams of Mandeville was the light of his life and the source of abundant love and joy. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Jan. 15, 2011 at St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of William P. Cowin to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3340 Severn Avenue, Suite 350, Metairie, LA 70002, or Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 4410 Highway 22, Mandeville, LA 70471. E.J.
