"Sonny" Carver, passed away at his residence Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at the age of 72. He worked as a tugboat captain for 30 years before he became a master carpenter for 30 years. Mr. Sonny was a member of Pearl Hickory Baptist Church in Pearl River. He is survived by his wife, Doretta Chris Carver; his mom, Mildred Carver; three children, William M. Carver, Ronald A. Carver and Stephanie L. Carver; two brothers, Conley Carver and Robert Carver and two sisters, Mae Irving and Rose Carver. He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Sonny is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Coleman Carver; his dad, Conley Carver; a sister Mirtis Carver and one grandchild. Funeral service were held yesterday at Pearl Hickory Baptist Church, 38220 Aunt Massey Rd., Pearl River. Interment was in Pearl Hickory Cemetery, Pearl River. ===================
