Certificate of Appointment of Maude Mae Jones as Postmaster of  Holly Ridge, LA in 1923

Maude Mae Jones and her husband William Sherman Jones lived in  Richland Parish, Holly Ridge at the time of the 1920 census. Mr. Jones worked at a sawmill until his death July 31, 1922. It was after Mr. Jones death that his widow was appointed postmaster at Holly Ridge. Maude Mae Jones was left with one daughter, Mary Marie Jones.

Maude Mae later married William James Harris and they had one daughter, Mildred Naomi Harris born October 4, 1926. This daughter was born in the living quarters in back of the post office where the  Harris family resided at that time.
