Isaac Lewis Choat was born Mary 4, 1866 in Franklin Parish, LA (which later became Richland Parish) and died January 14, 1919. Isaac "Ike" is buried in the Lone Cherry Baptist Church Cemetery which he had donated the property for the purpose of this church and cemetery. Ike was the son of William Franklin and Samantha Ann Green Thomason Choat.

Ike first married Rebecca Elizabeth Bell in Richland Parish, LA May 23, 1890. Rebecca was the daughter of Joshua Presler Bell and Emily Dalton Bell. The children of Ike and Rebecca were William Franklin "Willie" Choat, b. Aug 2, 1891 and Robert Joshua Choat, b. Jan 23, 1893. Rebecca died 3 months after Robert was born on April 16, 1893 and buried in the Old Ford Field Cemetery, Richland Parish, La.
