GORDON E. MAC MCQUILLIN

Bastrop, La. -

Funeral services for Mr. Gordon E. "Mac" McQuillin, age 79, of the Beekman 
Community were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Chapel of 
Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the Reverends Darrell Holland and Andy Myrick 
officiating. Interment followed at the Beekman Cemetery under the direction of 
Cox Funeral Home.


The family received friends Tuesday, December 23, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 
Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.


Gordon E. "Mac" McQuillin, was born July 5, 1929 in Montgomery, Louisiana to 
the late Henry C. McQuillin and Netta Britt McQuillin and he died Monday, 
December 22, 2008 at his home in Beekman.   He was a member of the Bethel 
Baptist Church, the Louisiana National Guard and a retired logger. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.


Mr. McQuillin is survived by his wife, Geneva McQuillin; eight children, Debra 
McQuillin of Fort Worth, Texas, Gordon McQuillin and wife, Melinda of Lake 
Dallas, Texas, Alvin McQuillin and wife, Teresa of Fort Worth, Teresa Meziere 
and husband, Eddie of Oak Grove, Kenneth Meredith of Bastrop, Rebecca Gregory 
and husband, Bobby of Bastrop, Tammy Ray and husband, Michael of Bastrop and 
Shayna Thurman of Bastrop; a brother, Richard McQuillin and wife, Evelyn of 
Montgomery and a sister, Francis Dempsey and husband, Jim of Phoenix, Arizona.


Serving as pallbearers were Corey Robinson, Tony Johnson, Michael White, 
Michael Ray, Mark Kelley and Mickey Craig.


Honorary pallbearers were Bardell Bostick and Kenneth Cupples.
