Louisiana Military Resources |

In 1920, Andrew B. Booth, the Commissioner of Louisiana Military Records, published his multi-volume set, "Records of Louisiana Confederate Soldiers and Louisiana Confederate Commands". Even more than eighty years later, it remains an invaluable source in searching for documentation of Louisiana Confederate soldiers. Not every Louisiana Confederate soldier who served is listed; other sources verify the Confederate military service of many Louisiana men who, for various reasons, Booth's index does not list.
The first twenty pages of Booth's work contained introductory material to his index, including a list of all known Louisiana Confederate military units and a list of known military engagements within the borders of Louisiana.
We acknowledge Jan Craven's monumentous efforts in preparing this material for the archives.
