The Great Influenza Pandemic of the Winter of 1918-1919 | ||||
During the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918-1919, over 550,000 people in the State of Louisiana died of Influenza. During the five month period of September 1, 1918 to January 31, 1919, Concordia Parish had 87 people die. While all of them might not have died of the flu, the vast majority of them did. Millions more died around the world including over 8 million in Spain where it is believed to have started. | ||||

We are looking for any historical documents, articles, photos, etc. Everyone is urged to donate transcriptions of Concordia Parish bible records, cemeteries, court records, old newspaper articles, biographies of residents, old letters, census data, obituaries, family histories, parish histories, military records, old photographs, etc. The USGenWeb has provided an easy to use form for submitting a RECORD of any type to the Louisiana GenWeb Archives.
