Mrs. Nell Rice

Mrs. Nell Rice, 65, wife of Walter Rice, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the Woodford County Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.

A native of Woodford County, she was employed at the R. L. Hobbs Co. for the past eight years. She is a member of the Glenn's Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Neal Florence McCreary, Frankfort; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Bartlett, Versailles; a son, Mrs. James B. Thurman, Woodford County; four step-daughters, Mrs. Lyle Finney, Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Hazel Boyer, California, Mrs. Wilma True, South Bend, Ind., Mrs. Merle Goldey, Versailles; three step-sons, Charles Rice, South Ben, Ind., William L. Rice, Woodford County; Bobby Rice, Versailles; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Blythe, Frankfort, and Mrs. Carl Records, Lexington; a brother, H. B. [part missing] five great-grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren.

The body is at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel.


Mrs. Easter Boler Dunn

Mrs. Easter Boler Dunn, 66, died unexpectedly Wednesday in the Orange County Hospital, Orlando, Fla. She was the widow of Garrett P. Dunn and a former resident of Woodford County.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Turley, Winchester; Mrs. Virginia Whittaker, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Ella Newberry, Granite City, Ill., and three sons, William A. and Lyman F. Dunn, Frankfort, and Wayne M. Dunn, Orlando, Fla.

The body will be brought to the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel Saturday night.

James Boone Nickles

Requiem Mass for James Boone Nickles, 25, who died Monday, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at St. Leo Catholic Church by Msgr. Leo F. Wilson and the Rev. Joseph X. Steffes. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery. Bearers will be Donald Ray Neal, Stuart Brown, Bert Gilkison, Bennie Finneran, Billy Ahern and Marion Wilson. The body is at Duell-Clark Funeral Home.

Mrs. Noble D. Moore

Mrs. Louise Catherine Weber Moore, 58, wife of Noble D. Moore, Devil's Hollow Pike, died at King's Daughters Hospital Saturday after a six-year illness. She was a native of Frankfort and member of North Benson Baptist Church.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert A. Mauer, Frankfort; three brothers, Carl Weber, Miami, Fla.; Herman Weber,Louisville and Paul A. Weber, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Walters and Mrs. Walter Childs, Frankfort and three grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Rogers Chapel by the Rev. Homer Brewer. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford county. Bearers will be John Tracey, James C. Quire, Walter Milton, John Singleton Jr., Ray Young and Douglas Quire.


Calvin C. Cornish

Calvin Clay (Slim) Cornish, 74, died at 6:45 a.m. yesterday at the home of a niece, Mrs. R. B. Moberly, 239 Bassett Avenue, after a long illness. A native of Washington County, he was a son of the late Henry C. and Malvine Beasley Cornish. He was a veteran of WW I.

Besides his niece, survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Karrick Cornish; a sister, Mrs. Martha Winkler, Lexington, and several nephews and other nieces.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Aaron Smith Funeral by the Rev. Sam Dennis. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery. Bearers will be R. H. Cornish, George Cornish Jr., Clarence Cornish, Richard Cornish, William Bryant and John Reed.

Miss Beverly Blackburn

Miss Beverly Gayle Blackburn, 16, died at 8 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington. She was injured in a one-car accident Nov. 30 in Versailles.

She was a native of Versailles and a member of the Versailles Methodist Church where she was active in the choir, and church youth organization. She was a junior at Woodford County High School where she was a member and past officer of the Spanish Club, Y-Teens, Prep Club and the Science Club.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie J. Blackburn Jr., Versailles; a brother, Leslie J. (Buddy) Blackburn III, a student at Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Francis Dixon, Bowling Green.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Blackburn Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Gardner.

James B. Long

Services for James B. Long, 39, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Duell-Clark Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ennis. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery. Bears will be Oscar Webber, Vernon Howard, Stanley Dyer, W.D. Robinson, Jr., Bobby Olson and B. W. Million.


Joseph Blackburn Mastin

Joseph Blackburn Mastin, 85, died at his home on Ashmore Drive Friday morning. He was a native of Woodford County and a steam engine operator. Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller-Blackburn Funeral Home.
