Mrs. James Moore

Mrs. Almeda Warfield Moore, 85, widow of James Moore, 249 Rosewood Drive, died at the Kings Daughters Hospital Sunday afternoon following a brief illness.

She was a native of this county, born Jan. 2, 1875, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Warfield. She had made Franklin county her home all of her life and she was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Eddie Hodson, Frankfort; Mrs. Porter Blacketer, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Mrs. Milton Lopez, of Louisville; two sons, Clarence and Arthur Moore, both of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Ella Paul of Muncie, Ind.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at the Harrod Bro. Funeral Home and funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Herman Marx, pastor of the First Baptist Chapel, officiating.

Interment will follow in the family lot in the Lebanon cemetery.

Mrs. Irene L. Hackney

Mrs. Irene Lillian Hackney, 86, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of WOodford County and a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, James Russell Hackney, Lexington; Emilius Hackney, Vienna, Va., and Lewis and Ben Hackney, both of Versailles; seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Stevens, Mrs. Hallie Smith, Mrs. Ann Sutherland, all of Versailles; Mrs. Mabel Bain, Midway; Mrs. Eva Fields, Mrs. Ophelia Nash and Mrs. Helen Brown, all of Lexington; one brother, Lane Hackney, Woodford County; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Hippe, Mrs. Frank Hippe, Mrs. Ollie McGaughey and Mrs. Howard Yowell, all of Woodford County; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Blackburn Funeral Home by the Rev. John W. Cruschwitz. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery. Bearers: Carlton, Louis Jr., James Jr., Don and Buddy Hackney, and Paul F. Smith.

Rev. Billiter, St. John's Pastor, Dies

The Rev. Earl Billiter, 42, resident of Franklin County and pastor of the St. John Baptist Church, died at the King's Daughters' Hospital at 12:05 p.m. Monday following a brief illness.

He was in the pulpit at the evening worship Sunday when he became ill and was taken to the hospital here.

He was a native of Anderson County, born there July 27, 1919, the son of John Billiter, of Lawrenceburg and the late Mrs. Annie Satterwhite BIlliter., he had been a resident of Franklin County for the past 10 years and was pastor of the St. John Baptist Church for the past eight years. Prior to moving to Franklin County he resided in Alton, Ky.

He was graduated from Georgetown College and the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville. Billiter was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy.

Beside his father, survivors are wife, two daughters, Sylvia Lynn and Lisa Jean, both of Franklin County, on sister, Mrs. Herbert Moffatt, Anderson County, one brother, Gilbert, Campbellville, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the harrod Bros. Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Herman Bowers, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating assisted by Rev. Jesse Stricker and Rev. Hugh Brooks.

Burial will be in the family lot in the Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Woodford County.

 Note: Rev. Billiter died January 9, 1962.


Mrs. Rose C. Colston

Mrs. Rose C. Colston, 88, widow of Hugh M. Colston, died at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. M. I. Beeler Jr., Louisville, early today after a long illness. She was a native of Frankfort and a member of the First Baptist.

Others survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Alice C. Hockensmith, Franklin County; Mrs. Hazel Carter, Mrs. Elois Hartong, Mrs. Kathleen Risk and Mrs. Mary Kennedy, all of Louisville, and Mrs. Rachel Snyder, California, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted here at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sullivan's. Burial will be in Frankfort Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Richard M. Ward

Richard Mathew Ward, 54, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Louisville, after a long illness. He was a Franklin County resident.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Famie Dennison, Franklin County, and Mrs. Mary Angel, Cleveland, Ohio.

Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Selby Newby. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery. Bearers will be Danny Florian, Rufus Florian Jr., Jesse Ward, Earl Wilson, Charles Boler and Paul Allen.
