Hanson Davis JudgeHe was a farmer and an extensive land owner in Nicholas Co. He was a member of the Moorefield Christian Church where he served on the Board for many years. He was a former director of the Hurst Home Insurance Co., and had served on the board of the Old Nicholas Co. Hospital. He is survived by two daughters, Martha Sims, Flemingsburg, and Jane Kington, Naples, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Susan S. Wills, John H. Sims, and Dr. Christopher Sims, all of Flemingsburg, Commander William Sims, Jr., Grapevine, Texas, Dr. Robert Sims, Nashville, Tennessee, Philip Sims, Lexington, Dr. James Kington, Sally K. Patterson, Charles A. Kington, Madisonville, Kentucky, Mary Jane K. Popham, Edgewood, and John H. Kington, Cincinnati, Ohio; 22 great-granchildren, and six great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and faithful care givers for the past four years, Phyllis Dunaway, Bud Whisman and Carr Storey. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 1995, at the Denton Funeral Home, Flemingsburg, with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Burial in Longview Cemetery, Bethel, Kentucky. Irene C. MorganShe is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bill Chowning, Lexington; Shirley Graves, Paris, and Carolyn Sharp, Versailles; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Dorothy Roe and Stella Jacobs, are deceased. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel, Versailles, by the Rev. Bob Gray. Marie YocumShe was born in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Henri Armistead and Jane Bagnell Chouteau. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and was a member of the New Union Christian Church and Idle Hour Country Club. Formerly she was active in the Junior League of Lexington, the Lexington Humane Society, Planned Parenthood, and the Medical Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons, Thomas D. Yocum Jr., Aspen, Colo.; Henri C. Yocum, Atlanta, Ga., and Joseph Grant Yocum, DVM, Lexington; a daughter, Mary Jane Nuckols, Midway; a sister, Jane Chouteau Murphy, and a brother, Pierre Chouteau, both of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Charles Nuckols IV, Mary Dunlap Nuckols, and Thomas Hunter Nuckols, all of Midway; and Joseph Grant Yocum IV, Andrew McGrath Yocum, Emily Chouteau Yocum, and Seth Hartman Yocum, all of Lexington. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the New Union Christian Church by the Rev. Paul Jones. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery. The W. R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway, Lexington, was in charge of arrangements.
