Donald Baker

Services for Donald Bruce "Bear" Baker, 23, 531 Williamsburg Rd., will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rogers Chapel. The Rev. Douglas F. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Ridge Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 23, 1955 in Frankfort to the late John William and Anna Louise Polsgrove Baker. He was a member of the St. John's Baptist Church. Mr. Baker died 12:15 Saturday in the Jewish Hospital, Louisville, after a long illness.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Geraldine Moore, Frankfort; and three brothers, William Thomas Baker, Salyersville, David Baker, Louisville, and John E. Baker, Frankfort.


Bill Quire

Services for Bill Quire, 103, St. John's Road, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Rogers Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Blaes officiating. Burial will be in the Choateville Cemetery.

A Franklin County native, he was born May 21, 1875 to the late Thomas and Mary Susan Moore Quire. A farmer, Mr. Quire received the Pioneer Farmer of the Year Award in 1973. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. He died 1:30 Friday at his home after a short illness.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Murray Baker and Mrs. Audrey Moore, and two sons, Elmer and Delmer, all of Franklin Co.; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Moore and Mrs. Ethel Singleton, six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Tommy Stivers, Odell Goins, Elwood Hulette, Emmitt Milton, Paul Weber, and William Heddon.

Wallace Hampton

Funeral services for Wallace Daniel Hampton, 72, of 54-A Reilly Rd., will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Herman Bowers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Born in Floydsburg, Ky., in April, 1906, to the late James J. and Nancy Long Hampton, he was a veteran of WWII USAF Reserve, a retired flight instructor and member of the Loyal Order of Moose N. 5. He died 7:45 p.m. at the N.H.E. Nursing Home, Lexington, after a long illness.

He is survived by his son, James Hampton of Frankfort; his step-son Joseph Gebhart, and step-daughter Mrs. Gerry Skaggs, both of Louisville.


Stephen B. Hensley

Services for Stephen B. Hensley, 79, of 202 Holmes Street, will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Kent, pastor of the Crestwood Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Sunset Memorial Gardens. He died 5:35 p.m. Wednesday in Greens Nursing Home following a long illness.

A native of Franklin County, he was born Feb. 1, 1899, the son of the late Frances Smith Hensley and Henon Hensley. He was a retired farmer and employee of the State Division of Finance. He was a member and deacon of Crestwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Harold Hensley and Forest Hensley, both of Frankfort, and Alvin Hensley, Lexington; one daughter, Mrs. Alfred Moore, Frankfort; one brother, William Hensley, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. John Hudson, Cincinnati, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Grandsons will be bearers.

Mrs. Leon Fugazzi

Mrs. Leon Margaret Beasley Fugazzi, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 15, at her residence, 131 St. Clair Street, Versailles, after a short illness. She was a native of Woodford County and a member of the Versailles Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marie Manley, Lexington; three sons, Frank J. Fugazzi and Paul E. Fugazzi, both of Lexington, and Nolin J. Fugazzi, Michigan; two sisters, Mary W. Beasley and Elizabeth C. Beasley, both of Versailles; two brothers, Joe E. Beasley, Lexington, and Phillip H. Beasley, New Mexico, and 11 grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Orrin Simmerman. Burial in Versailles Cemetery.
