He moved to Union County, Kentucky from Washington County, Kentucky where he farmed with his father, WILLIAM KINSEY GITTINGS. In October 1818 he married ELEANOR MUDD, the daughter of RICHARD and MARY (BERRY) MUDD, all from Maryland. In 1834 he moved to Illinois. He was a member of the Catholic Church and died November 7, 1869 leaving 10 living children at the time of his death. They are listed in the 1810 census of Henderson County, which became Union County in 1811. 1810 Census shows house# 416 for John Vaughn, house # 418 for Thomas and house # 419 For Benjamin Vaughn. The National Archives say they are in Ky. The Ky State Archives say they are not in Franfort or Lexington and Morganfield claims they were sent to the archives. Seeking info on naturalization for my gr grandfather, Frederick W.VOSS in Union Co. (lived Caseyville) on April 29, 1864. He moved to Ky in 1858 with wife and daughter after filing declaration of intent in Cincinnati Feb, 1858.
