Some of their children were born in Green, some Owen and some Sullivan County, Indiana. Known children: Joseph Martin Rankin (marr. America Sevier -- have Seviers WAY back) James C. Rankin; Martha F. Rankin; Mary A. Rankin; Olive Ella Rankin; Samuel b. Rankin; William E. Rankin. Name often spelled with an s on end. Would like to know parents of these folks, plus death dates and burial place.
Karen Zach Sat Aug 10 11:58:08 1996 Looking for information on Ralph Clark born Feb 6, 1911 Green County, Indiana. His parents were: George Clark and Junie Yarnell -- nothing known about them. They were said to have died young, so Ralph was raised/adopted by Dr. Tilghman Rawley. Ralph married Leona Rankin. They had three children and were VERY poor. When Ralph went to the service, Leona finally gave the children up for adoption. (odd, two generations, huh?) Ralph and Leona divorced. He raised a large family and was happily married in Tacoma, Washington. Would like to know about the next generation back -- above George and Junie.

Gage, born 1822 in N.Y. and Mary Ann Parent, born 1837 in Ky. Adra E was the daughter of John Pinkney Hood, born Knox Co, Tenn in 1847, son of James Madison Hood and Mary (Polly) Baker. He died in 1933 in Indiana. John P. Hood married Sarah Elizabeth (Betty) Vineyard, who was born 1854 in Tenn and died 1921 in Jackson, Sullivan Co, Ind. She was the daughter of John Vineyard and Sarah Elizabeth Veach. Especially interested in Parents of James Madison Hood and family of John Pinkney Hood. The children of Henry D. Gage and Adra E. Hood were born in the Vigo and Sullivan County areas: Nora Mildred Gage (Mickey), Charles, Mary Ann (Nina) Audrey and several who died young.

Although he was born in Kentucky( I do not know where) he relocated to Sullivan Co. in 1820, where my family is still located today. Jon MALLARD Tue Oct 22 23:42:27 1996 I am trying to make a connection between my great, great, great grandfather, Mordicai Milton BATSON/BATTSON (b. 1819), and a Mordecai BATSON/BATTSON that lived in Sullivan County, Indiana in the 1820s. This Mordecai BATSON was born in Virginia in 1755. He served in the 12th Virgina Regiment from 1776 until 1778. He was married to a Rachel MARNEY (1760-1844). They lived in what is now West Virginia until the late 1790s. They then moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky and lived there until 1820. They then moved to Sullivan County, Indiana, Mordecai's name appears in the 1820 Sullivan County census. He died in 1829 in Sullivan County. In the 1830 census Rachel doesn't appear to have a seperate household, a Jonathan BATSON is listed in Sullivan County only. Anyone that could give me information I would appeciate it.

Mary D. Pielemeier Please submit a query for my great-great-grandfather, Daniel Davidson, B. about 1786--D.3-5-1865 and his wife Mary Enochs who died at Carlisle, 6-13-1890 at aged 90 years old. Need the name of Daniel's father and where in Virginia Daniel was born. Also need to know where Daniel and Mary Enochs were married. She was the daughter of Thomas Enochs and Nancy Bryan, both of Rowan Co., N.C. I have information on the Enochs as they came to Jefferson Co., Ky. about 1800. All of these people were in Jefferson Co., Ky. records in the 1810 census. Daniel and Mary had three small children. They sold their land on Floyd's Fork and came to Carlisle about 1815 where they settled and raised a family of ten children. The Davidson cemetery at Carlisle was destroyed and the Sullivan county court house burned in 1850, there fore finding records are next to impossible. I am most interseted in info regarding Cyrus Thurman who would have lived in Vigo county in the early part of this century. He had a wife Josephine(maiden name Christopher) who had a brother in the Danville area. Cyrus and Josephine had 3 sons- Banks,Kenneth and Lester. When Josephine and Cyrus broke up, she and the boys moved to California. Cyrus stayed behind and reportedly died in a mining accident in Kentucky some time shortly thereafter(this may not be so). They lived there for about 12 years and then moved to So. Indiana. He said he was married in Sullivan co. Indiana to Jane Daniel in 1820. Jane Daniel states that she was born in 1805 Indiana. I have been trying for eight years to uncover who the parents were of both of these people. I am not able to come to Indiana to do research and was wondering if there is anyone out there who has any data on these two names. I do know that Calvin had a brother named Elias Curry. I believe that the father of Calvin and Elias could be William? I have no clues what so ever on Jane.
