They may have had Lincoln J. ARMSTRONG in 1866 and Harmon Andrew ARMSTRONG in 1872, before moving to Anderson Co., Kansas. This was Jacob's second marriage,first to Lovina Ullom. I am looking for a PHILIP LYKINS that lived in Wayne Co, IN in and before 1840. He was originally from the Montgomery and Franklin Co.,VA areas. Need information on family of Rosie Ann DECKER & John Henry MERVIN who lived near Ridgeville in Jay Co., IN. Rosie born 1873 & died 1955. John born 1876 (in OH)& died 1944. They were married 1896. Both buried Ritenour Cemetery, Ridgeville, IN. They lived for a time in Richmond, Wayne Co. IN. John may have died in Richmond. John's parents were George MERVIN & Rebecca SWOPE, who may have died in Randolph Co. IN. Several children of John & Rosie, including Gladys Evelin, Naomi Rebecca, Sarah Violet, Susan Viola and others.

The names I am researching are: Sutton, McAllsiter, Knapp, Kegerreis, Gunckel and Daughterty.
ANDREW KNAPP married MARGARET MCALLISTER in 1831 in Randolph co. He was born Ohio & I know nothing more beyond that. I have a copy of Margaret's father's will and so know a bit about the McAllisters. There are other people researching this family, also, that I am in contact with.

For the KEGERREIS' and the GUNCKEL'S I have a wealth of information. They are both German families who settled in Pa in the early 1700's and then migrated to Indiana in the 1800's. A DAUGHERTY married a GUNCKEL. The daugherty's were in Delaware Co., before 1850 when Edward and his youngest kids appear on the census. HUMPHREY SUTTON was in Delware Co., before 1840. They lived near the county line and so bounced back and forth. His grandson, Thomas, was married in 1884 in Randolph Co., (to a Knapp). Humphrey was born in Kentucky about 1795. I believe that I know his family there, but have been unable to prove it.

I would be most happy to share the information that I have on these families.

Mary Gladys Knapp was born about 1867. Her parents were Andrew & Lavina Gunckel Knapp. Mary married Thomas Sutton (of Delaware. Co.) on Nov. 13, 1884 in Randolph Co. They had 5 children before Thomas was killed in Jan. 1896. All the children were put in other homes or adopted. Why? The three oldest stayed in the area and raised their families. They were Zora (Hinshaw/Albertson), Bess (Rutledge) & Floe (Gleason) Sutton. In June 1898 Mary married Allison Hinds in Randolph Co. He, also, died in an accident before 1910. They had 4 children, only 2 of which survived their early years. The surviving kids were Madge (Ganger) Hinds & Gayle B. Hinds. When did Mary Knapp Sutton Hinds die? She probably is buried in Randolph Co. I would appreciate any information on these Knapps.

Need help identifying the family of my grandfather, HENRY N WOODARD, who married LAURA BELL SHOCKNEY in Randolph Co in 1881. LAURA BELL was the dauther of SAMUEL CARROLL and ASENITH (PICKETT) SHOCKNEY. Her grandparents were WILLIAM and SARAH ANN (WHITE) PICKETT and JOHN NEWTON and JERUSHA (ANDERSON) SHOCKNEY. Family history says that HENRY was born in Dayton Ohio in 1858, and that his parents were both born in Pennsylvania, but I have not been able to confirm this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the NATL ARCH records of ARNESTRUSS HUNT and part of his pention request he stated he was born in WAYNE CO in 1837. I have family records that state that JOB HUNT and ROSETTA STONE were his parents. Family records show that they had abt 10 children in all. Looking for any info on JOB or ROSSETTA ,were they just passing thru the area to MARION CO where ARNESTRUSS turned up next or ???? My line on down to me was to MARION CO and up to HOWARD CO and also to CARROLL CO. TIA for any information.

HOLMES/MORRICAL - Seeking info on parents of John Holmes and Mahala Jane Morrical. Johnb, b.in Pa in 1824; marr. 30 Dec 1852 in Fulton Co., Ind. to Mahala Jane Morrical. John and Mahala appear in the 1860 Kankakee Co., Ill (Otto Township) Census. Mahala b.1834 in Ind.. Children in 1860; Mary E., Eliza, Charles and Melissa. John was a private in Co.H, 113th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War and died 12 Dec 1863 in a hospital in Springfield, Ill. Don't know when Mahala died, sometime after 1869. It appears from 1860 Kankakee census that John may have had brothers Jacob and Henry. Mahala had a brother, Frank, who was a doctor in Chesterton, Ind. Will share. Any help appreciated. Joan

James Clarence DAVIS was born 22 November 1883 in Darke Co., Ohio, but I haven't been able to find proof of birth or his family in that county. However, I have a photo of him circa 1887 from the W. Blanch Ward studio in Richmond, Ind.(Wayne County) His parents were Elizabeth J. COULTER and Joseph Warren DAVIS. Issac ROUTH b. 3 Aug 1829 in Wayne Co., IN had parents James Henry ROUTH b. 14 Jul 1805 in TN and Mary HOOTEN ROUTH b. 9 Sep 1808 in KY or OH. James Henry's parents were James ROUTH b. est.1875 and Rebecca GOWER ROUTH b. est. 1785. Many of those died in the 1800s in Nettle Creek Twp., Randolph, IN. Researching the BURKHEAD family that settled in Adams county (Washington twp) and appears in the 1860 Indiana Census. They appear to be descended from a M.F. BURKHEAD (b. 1776, Maryland, 84 years old in 1860) and his apparent son, M.F. BURKHEAD (b. 1806, Maryland, 54 years old in 1860). Nathan H. BURKHEAD m. Rebecca ANDREWS on 08 Jun 1848. A possible brother, George W. BURKHEAD, lived in Randolph county (Monroe twp) for both the 1850 and 1860 Census.

I'm looking for information about my greatgrandparents on my mother's side, supposedly from Randolph Co. My greatgrandfather on her father's side was John Mullen, born in Farmland in 1858. Missing date of death. His wife's name was Celina Melissa Campbell; that's all the information I have.

On my grandmother's side, her father Samuel Thomas was supposedly born in Muncie in 1861, and his wife's name was Minnie Mae Poore, born in 1877. I have no other information on either of them.

I'm interested in information about Mullen, Campbell, Thomas, or Poore, I'd be grateful.

Is there anyone out there that has ANY information on Morgan C.(?) McMAHAN and his family?? Morgan was in the Wayne county, Indiana in the 1820 Federal Census. Morgan had a daughter Sarah (or Sallie) McMAHAN born 1808 and who was married in Randolph County in 1823 to Gabriel FENDER. Sarah died in 1847 in Wayne County. Morgan appears to have come from Rowan county, N. Carolina and it is very possible that Sarah was also. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
