Pvt. Co. C, 59th Regt. Ga. Vols.

Son of Archibald Hill & Samantha Barfield Husband of
(1) Mary A.J. "Mollie" Morris Murray, (2) Mary A.V.
Moulton, (3) Melvina Thompson, (4) Camillia Floyd, &
(5) Susan Fitspatrick Culpepper Watson.

"Hamp" Hill's date of birth is hotly contested. I have
personally seen 5 five differnt dates, each having
about the same weight in supporting documentation. I
personally believe that even he didn't know his own
birthdate. My personal favorite birth date is Dec. 13,
1842. It is the date he gave on his army enlistment
and service record and it appears on his affidavit for
pension years later.

as a widow. He joined the 27th Reg't GA VOL INF on July
10, 1862 for the duration of the war. He is shown as

4th quarters of 1863. Is listed as present Jan - Feb
