Joseph K. CROOM to Reding CROOM, both of Lenoir Co., NC
13 January 1836

State of North Carolina
Lenoir County

This Indenture made the thirteenth day of January one thousand Eight hundred and
thirty six between Joseph K. CROOM of State and County aforesaid of the one part and
Reding CROOM of the same State and County of the other part, Witnesseth that the
said Joseph for and in consideration of the Sum of twenty dollars to him in hand
paid by the said Reding CROOM have bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said Reding
CROOM a certain piece or parcel of land lying int he aforesaid county and State on
the South Side of Neuse River adjoining Robert WOOTTENS land and others it being a
part of a Survey Granted to Richard CASWELL for five hundred acres and is know as
lot No. 3 in the division amongst the heirs of Shadrick WOTTENS —- Beginning at
Lot No. 2 in the three hundred and twenty pole line of the old Survey and runs North
ten degrees East to the first corner of lot No. 4 thence with Lot No. 4 to Robert
WOOTENS line thence with his line to lot number two thence with that to the
beginning containing twenty five acres more or less. 
To have and to hold unto the said Reding CROOM his heirs and assigns forever and I
the said Joseph R. CROOM doth agree with him the said Reding CROOM to warrant and
forever defense the above bargained Premises unto him the said Reding CROOM his
heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof I doth hereunto Set my hand and seal
the day and date first above written in the presents of these Witnesses.

Then was the foregoing deed of bargain and sale from Joseph R. CROOM to Reading
CROOM exhibited into Court and the execution thereof providing William CROOM and
ordered to be registered.
